Assured

CSN sang of helplessly hoping from the empty place inside, but there’s an assured hope guaranteed by the One that can fill the empty place and it’s more than available to everyone. If you feel empty, unloved or rejected there is an answer and if you’ll put the tiniest bit of trust in Jesus he’ll rush to that emptiness and love you like no one else can. He’ll begin to heal your pain and walk through everything with you; you’ll never have to be alone again.

Jesus Loves You

Romans 8:37

“None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us.”

His love really is enough. It’s when we look for it in other places that can’t possibly fill our deep need that we get messed up and begin to feel unloved.

This Day

Lord give me the courage to recognize my flaws and the wisdom to know that your love for me is not in spite of them but includes them. Give me the heart to understand the shortcomings of others and the ability to love them like you do. Use me to share your love with those I see today and help stand as proof against the evidence that they are unloved.

Don’t’ Listen

We’ve touched on things you can be certain God is saying to you over the last few days. Now let’s explore some things you can be sure God is never saying. The world comes at you with overwhelming evidence that you’re unloved, alone, not performing up to expectations and any number of other lies that keep you from being who God created you to be. Not only do you have to deal with what comes at you from outside, there’s also a persistent monologue inside your own mind that too often supports the lies. It’s vital that we recognize all of this for what it is.

Singular

The love that God has for us and thus the love we’re called to share with others is completely unique, one of a kind. Think about yourself for minute. If God loves you because He made you, does that fulfill your greatest need? What if His love is only because you received His Son or are part of some group? If that were the case for me I wouldn’t feel loved at all. I’d feel herded, insignificant, essentially unloved. Understanding this makes life the incredible adventure God intended. Imagine the significant opportunity of every encounter we have with each other. Consider the things to be shared and learned. Think of the joy or pain that doesn’t have to be experienced alone. That’s God’s love and we’re the ones that know it and get to share it.

The Evidence

The evidence supporting the lie that you are unloved can be overwhelming. It can come from almost anywhere or anyone. It can pile up so high around you that it’s all you can see or feel. That doesn’t make it true! It just makes it a bigger lie.

Cloudy

As followers of God, sin no longer separates us from Him but clouds us from Him for the moment. We get to choose how long the moment is. We need to turn back to Him immediately not take our punishment into our own hands and prolong the cloudiness. This only causes us to feel more unloved which leads to more clouds.
