I love how God reveals Himself, supports and confirms what He’s saying when we’ll listen. After sharing on fear and trust yesterday, I came across this from Larry Crabb –

“The point of the whole plan is relationship, a connected community.

We can make a little headway in building that community now. If I have already been forgiven and therefore connected to a God whose Spirit pours life into me, then you pose no threat to my existence. You can reject me, hurt me and make my life pretty miserable, but you cannot destroy me. Therefore I don’t need to be afraid of you that my fear controls how I treat you.”

I read this from E. Stanley Jones this morning and it so wonderfully explained my excitement for today.

“Jesus… He reveals and conceals. You know, and you don’t know; you see, and you don’t see. What you don’t know and don’t see stirs you to perpetual discovery. This perpetual discovery becomes the most exciting thing in life. It keeps you on your toes, for you feel there is something big just ahead. This unfolding revelation of Christ puts a surprise around every corner, makes life pop with novelty and discovery and perpetual development.”

This day has been set aside by the Lord. He’s filled it with opportunities for us to love the people around us. He’s going to reveal needs that folks have and equip us with what will bring them comfort and healing. Oh what a beautiful day it will be.

This argument against the existence of God is based on the idea that since there are so many people that claim conflicting revelations God, they all must be wrong. In other words, maybe it’s best to reject them all rather than choose the wrong one. Aren’t there numerous possible answers to any question yet still just one that’s correct? Maybe the solution to this problem is in whom you seek the answer from? Ultimately the question is “God, are you there for me?” or “Will you please reveal Yourself to me?” Though it is important to seek answers from people we trust, in the end God has to make Himself known. It doesn’t matter where you start, if you are truly seeking to know the One that made you, He will show Himself.

Empiricism is a theory that states that knowledge can only be obtained from sensory experience and much weight is put on evidence derived from experiments or testing. The atheist would say that because they have not seen, heard, felt, smelled or tasted God, He doesn’t exist. This reasoning seems narrow-minded as it discounts the sensory experience of others in order to be held. The evidence of God is everywhere. The earth and the sky shout His existence or at the very least beg the sincere question, “Who made this?” God invites us to test Him. He wants more than anything to reveal Himself to us but the sincerity of our desire to know plays a huge part in what we will see, hear, feel…
