In the verse from yesterday’s post Jesus had some amazing promises for those that believe in Him. Did believe mean something different than it does today?

My favorite synonym for fresh is spanking new. It’s a reference to birth, as new as you can be. Solomon in total despair claimed there is nothing new under the sun but he was looking in all the wrong places. If we’ll focus on what’s beyond the sun, the One who placed it there and holds it in its place everything is new and not just once but a continual new, each day fresh and full of promise, each moment an opportunity to see and respond to the uniqueness God’s presenting. Born again and again… spanking new.

Making one is easy, keeping it however, should be the purpose.

In Him there are no dead ends; life is wide open, as open as eternity. If we’ll give Him all that we are and seek Him in this moment, He will take care of all our tomorrows. We can count on it.

Promise

Today is filled with promise; it’s not hidden though it’s easily ignored.

I know that a number of you have been going through some pretty rough times lately. You’re in the middle of something you never thought you would have to face and it’s scary. It is going to get better, hang in and don’t give up. Be sure you don’t try to go it alone, lean in close to the Lord and find someone to help you. Things may not work out exactly as you want them to but you’ve been promised that there will be a day when you’ll look back and understand how you and those around you are better. God loves you so very much. You’re in my prayers.

The veracity of God indicates that He does not lie. He is truth. He can be counted on to fulfill all of His promises and to always be true to who He is. There is nothing we can’t trust Him with and no reason to try to go it without Him. The depth of our personal relationship with Him is directly proportional to how much we put our trust Him.

Well, not really but it could be. If we’ll allow God into the difficulty or situation that’s troubling us, the good will be found. He wants the very best for us and has promised to show us what that is if we will let Him. He loves to take the crap in our lives and turn it into something wonderful.

Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. How cool is that? We can fulfill this promise by walking closely with Him, hearing God’s voice and having the courage and confidence to do what He says. Jesus didn’t go around picking His own miracles to perform. He simply listened and did it.
