He’s the whole of the matter! It really can be that simple. Whatever the issue, going through it with Him is far better than any other seeming solution. He knows you and loves you like no one else and is waiting for you to call His name. He’s the best answer and not just to Sunday School questions.

Too often our days are filled with things we have no problem handling on our own. What if we stopped caving to our fear and tried something we couldn’t do without God?

I know that a number of you have been going through some pretty rough times lately. You’re in the middle of something you never thought you would have to face and it’s scary. It is going to get better, hang in and don’t give up. Be sure you don’t try to go it alone, lean in close to the Lord and find someone to help you. Things may not work out exactly as you want them to but you’ve been promised that there will be a day when you’ll look back and understand how you and those around you are better. God loves you so very much. You’re in my prayers.

There are many in the world with this view. Most refer to themselves as atheists, which is a term whose Greek root means without God. Atheists tend to be skeptical of the supernatural and have a number of reasons they deny the existence of Deity, among them, the lack of empirical evidence, the problem of evil and the existence of inconsistent revelations. Other lines of thinking that play into many atheists philosophy are; the law of parsimony, the case of non-belief and they believe the burden of proof should be on we who say there is a God and not on them to prove there isn’t. Well this is already a mouthful; maybe this is going to take longer than I thought. Tomorrow we’ll start digging into each of these arguments and explore some answers so we will be better able to love folks that don’t know God at all.

The problem with this is that God is at work everywhere. Catch phrases like this can lead to anxiety from trying to figure out where God is and how you can fit in.

Opportunities? A dear friend of mine calls every challenge that comes his way an opportunity. He sees them as a chance to learn something, to grow, to address a problem or change something that needs to be changed. I love his attitude.

The Bible says to count it all joy when we come upon trials in our lives. If we look at things the way my friend does it makes this possible. Ultimately what every challenge provides us is an opportunity to trust God. If we worry, get anxious or try to force things apart from Him, that’s not trusting. If we can face our setbacks knowing that God wants the very best for us, and if we seek Him for what can be gained, that’s the “peace that passes all understanding”.
