A faith focused on “someday” is the equivalent of “not today Lord”.

God’s message to us is not complicated. Through His birth and life among us He declared; I’m here, I’m real and I love you. In His death and resurrection He affirmed; I’m still here, I’m very real and I love you more than you can imagine. The implications of this should impact every aspect of our lives yet how often do we live with a “see You in Heaven” attitude or allow fear to control our lives as though He isn’t real and lack trust as though we are unloved?

Why do we reach people for Jesus? Wouldn’t it be better to touch them with Jesus or better yet embrace them with Him? Reaching is something we do from a distance and has never been the way He intended.

Though we often hear differently, others opinions are just that, opinions. They may hold a fraction of truth but that doesn’t make them the whole truth. We do need to be careful not to throw the baby out with the bath water but the bath water still needs to be thrown out. So don’t let someone’s misguided judgment inhibit the truth the rest of us know about you, you’re amazing, God says so and we can see it.

Scripture says that, “when He appears we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him like He is.” Who could refuse Jesus if they could see Him as He really is? The misconceptions of Him are easy to turn from and unfortunately those misconceptions often come from us, but it doesn’t have to be that way. We can really know Him and the closer we get the more like Him we become and through us the world can see the genuine Jesus.

I Can Tell

These two statements:

I know a lot about God and I know God.

Can usually be followed by; I can tell.

Is not the end, it’s the beginning of a new chapter. Sometimes it includes the passing of a particular difficulty or season but the next period will have its own challenges. Even heaven is a place of growth. There will always be more of God to know and understand. Getting this can help us better cope with today’s dragons. Let the slaying begin.

“What I like about Jesus’ message is that we don’t have to study Him anymore to know Him. That’s what the religious people at the time were promoting. Collecting information about someone is not the same as knowing a person. Stalkers are ordinary people who study from afar the people they’re too afraid to really know. Jesus said that unless you know Him like a child you’ll never really know Him at all. Kids don’t care about facts, and they certainly don’t study each other. They’re just with each other; they do stuff together. That’s what Jesus had in mind” – Bob Goff, Love Does

God loved you. There’s never been a moment since when that’s untrue. No matter how well we might know His love there’s even more to be known. Today is an opportunity to realize His special affection for you in a new and deeper way. Let Him show you.

1Corinthians 2:14-16

The unspiritual self, just as it is by nature, can’t receive the gifts of God’s Spirit. There’s no capacity for them. They seem like so much silliness. Spirit can be known only by spirit. God’s Spirit and our spirits in open communion. Spiritually alive, we have access to everything God’s Spirit is doing, and can’t be judged by unspiritual critics. Isaiah’s question, “Is there anyone around who knows God’s Spirit, anyone who knows what he is doing?” has been answered: Christ knows, and we have Christ’s Spirit.
