Invitation

What He wants us to participate in is the relationship we were created for. The most intimate one of a kind loving relationship you could possibly imagine. There is no reason to wait, no need to “get right”.  He wants you right now just the way you are.

Reign

Here’s another word from Romans 6:12, it means to be in power or in control. Who has the power in your life? Who’s in control? If the answer is another person, you’re in trouble. If the answer is “I do” then you’re only in slightly less of a mess than if it’s someone else. God is the one with all the power, we are not. We prove it daily yet have trouble recognizing it frequently. I wonder if we are reluctant to admit and turn our weaknesses over to Him because we are afraid we’ll have to become someone completely different? That’s not what He has in mind. He wants to share His power with us. His goal is not to control us; He loves who we are right now. He just wants to come along side and help with our struggles just as much as He wants to celebrate the success.

Small Voice

Often we don’t recognize God’s voice because we are listening for thunder instead of a whisper. There are times when God speaks loudly but most often He speaks in whispers. He wants us to slow down, make time to connect intimately and seek Him. We are to become good listeners. Too often our time with Him is spent talking and not listening. We have our agenda or our idea of what prayer is supposed to sound like (don’t get me started on that…) and we talk right over Him.

Join

God is at work all over the place and He wants nothing more than for us to join Him in it. He doesn’t have specific places or days set aside for what He’s doing. Let’s seek Him for who He would have us love on today no matter where we are or even how awkward it might be.

The problem with this is that God is at work everywhere. Catch phrases like this can lead to anxiety from trying to figure out where God is and how you can fit in.
