“Don’t run after fame and glory for yourself, thinking that such things are the way God keeps score. They aren’t. God doesn’t keep score at all. Such things are not God’s gifts to you. Instead, be generous, loving, gracious, and kind, for it is in these things that God reveals Himself to you, and reveals Himself to others through you.”

Jeremy Myers

Authority is not something we are to have over others, in fact think about the word over for a minute. Spiritual authority is something we give to others when they’ve proven they can be trusted and kept when trust is maintained. It’s also a great thing to share.

How…

did guilt and shame so easily replace love and care?

Grace is ours to accept, grasp and to share.

While scripture may not specifically say, “God will never give you more than you can handle”, it’s certainly evident throughout that with Him anything is possible, that in Him there is always hope and that all things work together for good to those who love God. So while He never promised us a life free of *trouble, He has assured us that if we’ll include Him, we’ll not only get through the difficulty but actually come out the other side closer to Him and better able to trust Him the next time life gets hard.

*Philippians 1:29 For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake

Sin, offense, failing, wrong doing, evil doing… Jesus’ teachings on these are intended to help us find our own faults, not aid us in becoming the authority over others’.

I heard this phrase a couple of times today. Think about it for a minute… It’s an absolute impossibility.

I’m very proud to announce that after many, many years of trying I finally earned God’s approval. It all came together today when I – whoops, never mind I just lost it.

Grace and trust go hand in hand. I wouldn’t go so far as to say they are inseparable as they each have their place but they certainly are vital to each other. Grace is the proper response to trust but it’s also the appropriate reaction when trust has been broken.

Thank you very much for your input yesterday.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on trust and grace, not so much as they stand alone but as they interact.
