“Don’t run after fame and glory for yourself, thinking that such things are the way God keeps score. They aren’t. God doesn’t keep score at all. Such things are not God’s gifts to you. Instead, be generous, loving, gracious, and kind, for it is in these things that God reveals Himself to you, and reveals Himself to others through you.”

Glorified

“To glorify the name of the Lord Jesus would be enough for any ransomed sinner, but to be told (2Thess. 1:11, 12) that in the very glorifying of Jesus he himself would be glorified in Him – well, that is just too overwhelmingly good.” – E. Stanley Jones
That’s grace, we were made to live in Him, with Him, about Him and for Him, not for His benefit but because together (He in us, us in Him) was and is the entire goal. It’s the very thing the world desperately seeks and we must be willing to share in word and deed.
Too Much for One Day

Today began with an incredible sunrise over the mountains outside Flagstaff and from there only got better. We saw the unbelievable beauty of the Grand Canyon, an astounding diversity of people drawn to this magnificent work of creation and had the honor of finishing the day with the children’s Great Grandmother Grace. All of which I would love to say more but for now:
The astounding diversity, as we were walking along the southern rim of the canyon today we could hear Worship music coming from somewhere. We walked toward it and came upon a group of twelve or thirteen people who had gone out on an outcropping with a guitar and were belting it out to God. We sat down and soaked it in. As others passed by they often stopped and in a multitude of languages called out their approval. Few things speak of God’s magnitude like the Grand Canyon but today we got to see one better in the way He touches folks everywhere.
Black or White

The world is not monochromatic. Seldom in life are the choices we’re confronted with so cut and dried or so easily identified. The good news for us is that ours is the God that places power in weakness, wisdom in simplicity and glory in humility. He is the God who overcomes death with life. With Him there is always more than meets the eye. When we choose to see things as either black or white we miss out on the reds, blues, greens, oranges and all the other colors He’s given us. As we learn to see through His eyes, there is beauty all around.

The heavens declare your glory Lord. All of creation shouts Your wonder. But nothing displays Your enormity like the perfect unique love You have for each of us, how You delight over every detail.
