Effort

This day may take extra effort. God’s providing all you need to not only make it through but to thrive. Don’t go it alone.

What has God given that you could be sharing? What ability, art, skill, wisdom, experience or talent could the rest of us benefit from? We all need each other so very much. We are at our best together not when we’re keeping what we’ve been blessed with for ourselves. Don’t let fear or insecurity squash the wonder He’s given you to share.

Nothing says I care for you better than time. Words certainly can be encouraging, gifts can show you’ve been thinking about someone but who or what you really love will be where your time is given. Time is undoubtedly a most precious commodity and it’s easy to see how those who are unsure would be stingy with it. But for those in an intimate relationship with God, time is in abundance. We have forever. So who shall we share ourselves with today? Who comes to mind that could really use a call or a visit? Who near to us do we assume knows how much we care? We’ve been given so much, let’s give some back.

Love cannot to be held onto, it exists to be given away. It seems backwards to us, how can I get what I so desperately need by giving it away? God’s ways are “higher” than ours. The love we so urgently need, can only come from Him and when we allow God to provide it for us, we are no longer desperate to get it from others. The fear we mentioned yesterday disappears and we are free to give love away.

Happy Thanksgiving Day, I am so thankful that you’ve given the time to read my postings over the past few months. Your encouragement and kind words have meant more than you can know. I’m eager to see what God has in the days and weeks ahead for you. If I can help in any way please allow me. Much love, Jim

The greatest gift we’ve been given is the present (pun intended). The only time that’s important is now. This incredible gift is completely unappreciated when we waste today focusing on the regrets or accomplishments of yesterday and is just as misused when we worry about tomorrow. You can only be with God right now and He would love to walk through this entire day with you.
