We shared some stories with a dear friend last night and were reminded of how very near our God is, at every turn, at every trial and in every triumph right there with us. Tomorrow looks much brighter when we remember.

A Look Back

Another year has come and gone and like all the years before, God has proven to be trustworthy. Somehow He showed Himself in completely unique situations. He was there in the good times and in the bad and was always willing to bear the burden if we would let Him. He provided in miraculous ways and as recently as today surprised us with more than we could ask for.
Thank you for the encouragement, support and friendship you have so graciously sent our way this year. I am continually amazed that you would take the time read this. If there is anything I can ever help with please don’t hesitate to ask.
Your friend,
Jim

Worth the Wait

What God has for us is so much better than what we try to force ourselves. I heard a couple fantastic stories today that really demonstrated this. Folks who knew that change was coming and who were faithfully patient not to rush into the first thing that came along. They avoided multiple maybes along the way so that when the for sure came along, they were totally prepared. And in each case what God had for them far exceeded even their grandest dream. He has that for you too, hang in there.
Try this at home, you could become proficient.

I hope we’ve been able to put some of the doubt about hearing from God behind us. If this is new to you, here’s an idea on how to start. Set some time aside and find a quiet place to be alone with God. Thank Him for loving you and ask Him to join you right here, right now. Call on Jesus. Open your heart to whatever He may want and put aside any agenda you might have. Ask Him to remind you of a scripture. Find that specific verse and then memorize it. Pray for God to show you who to share this verse with. In the next few days you’ll see God present you with an opportunity.
I’ve suggested this exercise here before and have heard some great stories that came of it. If we will meet Him and be faithful in the little things we’ll see Him do the amazing. The results of this exercise will be having heard from God, knowing that He heard you and building trust and intimacy. As we’ve said before, there’s nothing better.
Faithful in the little things

As we talked about in yesterday’s post, knowing what God wants us to do today is not complicated. However if we aren’t going to be faithful in this, why would He reveal what is next? God’s promises for tomorrow are tied to the choices we make today. When He can trust us with the smaller things then He will begin to bring us more.
