…that all men are created equal. The key word here is created. Adam and Eve were equal in the garden but it wasn’t until Jesus came that equality was reintroduced to the world. To this day the only places that put any value in equality are those based on His teachings. Freedom, equality and democracy are all intertwined but apart from Christ they will not work. If you want to change the world, you have to do it one heart at a time.

While researching some family heirlooms this week I came across the term maker’s mark (the whiskey was in the news a bunch too). It’s the personal mark a fine craftsman puts on the creations he wants everyone to know are his. I hope a magnifying glass isn’t needed to see our Maker’s marks.

The word consumer has really been on my heart lately; Here’s the definition of consume:

Verb (used with object)
1. To destroy or expend by use; use up.
2. To eat or drink up; devour.
3. To destroy, as by decomposition or burning: Fire consumed the forest.
4. To spend (money, time, etc.) wastefully.

Some words I like better are: give, create or share.

If God loves me because He created me, it’s not enough. If God loves me because I believe in Him, it’s not enough. If God loves me because I do things for Him, it’s not enough. If God loves me because I am uniquely who I am and His love for me is unlike the love He has ever had for anyone before that is more than enough, in fact it is all that I need.
