Is the biggest most believed lie we’re presented with every day. Isolation is one of the enemy’s most effective tools. Don’t listen, don’t entertain the lie and don’t be afraid to share your struggles. God is here with you and for you and He has folks around that want to be a part of His love for you.

You Can Change
Posted: November 14, 2013 in UncategorizedTags: believe, change, crap, fear, God, habits, Holy Spirit, hope, insecurity, Jesus, love, process, relationships, scary
We all have crap in our lives that we wish was gone. Insecurities that inhibit our relationships, past wounds that keep us from moving forward or even habits that are difficult to kick can have a devastating effect on our life. Don’t be discouraged, change is absolutely possible and if we’ll trust the Lord, inevitable.
Too often we’re taught that once we believe in Jesus change should be instantaneous. Scriptures like “2Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” can cause us to lose hope. Change is an everyday process not a onetime thing so maybe a better way to read this scripture would be; Therefore, those in Christ are a new creation; the old will pass away and all things are to become new.
Knowing Jesus, seeing the things in you that are not like Him and then trusting Him with them is the key to change. It really is that simple to understand but in no way does that make it easy to do. Change can be scary but God’s love for us can overcome our fear.
Don’t Believe It

What lie do you believe that’s keeping you from more of Jesus?
Misconception

A common misconception about Jesus is that He wants to control us. Few things could be further from the truth, if that were true He would have set it up that way in the beginning. What’s sad about this fallacy for one is that it’s a big reason many choose not to know Him and secondly that many others, though well intentioned believe they are being Christ like by trying to control. That’s not who He is or what He wants from us, in fact what He wants is nothing more than to love us as the individuals He made us to be, to be loved in return and to literally walk through each and every day with us, good times and bad.
He Who Believes?

In the verse from yesterday’s post Jesus had some amazing promises for those that believe in Him. Did believe mean something different than it does today?
Simplicity Itself

I’ve been praying about how to wrap up what we’ve been talking about the past few days and came across this from E. Stanley Jones, I have nothing to add: “Believe and love – put the whole of the Christian faith into simplicity itself. Believe in the kind of God, the kind of man, the kind of life you see in Jesus. Love each other the way He loved, and nothing more is required or necessary. This is It! It needs not to be added to or subtracted from.”
Bigger

God is bigger than everything! There is nothing He fears. We get hung up on the smallest things, we’re afraid of other’s beliefs or questions and rather than listen and love in truth, we browbeat and declare righteousness. Being right and truth are not necessarily the same thing.
Show and Tell

We certainly want to be telling folks about God’s love but if we’re not also showing them this love, chances are they won’t believe what we’re saying. When people know you care their hearts soften to what you have to say.
Still One Thing
Posted: November 19, 2012 in UncategorizedTags: amazing, believe, certainty, earned, enough, God, God's love, heart, Holy Spirit, Jesus, love, one thing, perfect love, still one thing
I started writing here about a year and a half ago and the first post was titled, “If I could tell you just one thing.” And pretty much every day since I’ve tried to let you know how much God loves you. Sometimes I wonder if the redundancy has a place but each day I’m reminded that for some reason grasping His amazing love for us is a daily endeavor. So, today I want you to know with certainty that your God loves you, not because He made you, not because you believe in Him and certainly not because you’ve earned it. He loves you because you are unique and one of a kind and that’s the only love that truly is enough to fill our hearts.
And Further More

“Love Does”, here’s more from this interesting biographical book from Bob Goff:
“I used to think being a believer was enough, but now I know Jesus wants us to participate, no matter what condition we’re in.”
What He wants us to participate in is the relationship we were created for. The most intimate one of a kind loving relationship you could possibly imagine. There is no reason to wait, no need to “get right”. He wants you right now just the way you are.
