Questions

We needn’t be afraid of questions, whether asking or being asked. There is safety in asking each other hard questions and since we’re imperfect there is no shame in not having the or an answer. God certainly isn’t afraid of our questions in fact He invites them, there is nothing we can’t take to Him. He not only has the answer, He is the answer.

“What I’ve learned the more I’ve spent time following Jesus is that God delights in answering our impossible prayers. The kind of prayers made in a dark cell by someone holding unwashed hands. Prayers asking for the things we couldn’t possibly think could happen for us or someone else. Ones we might even feel a little bad saying, as if it’s just asking God for too much. But what I forget is that we are talking to a God who knows what we need the most is to return to our lives. And God knows that we can’t fully return until we know we’ve been forgiven.” – Bob Goff, Love Does

In the verse we talked about yesterday, there’s a small word that often gets overlooked; the word “asks”. This little word indicates that when people are ready to listen, they will ask a question. Hopefully they’ll ask because they see something in us that’s different. This is God at work. We don’t need to take matters into our hands if we’ll pray and respond to His opportunities.
