Why Does God Love You?

Are you kidding? You’re amazing! There are countless things about you that are absolutely astonishing. There is no one like you, never has been, never will be. You are exactly who God made you to be just, well, wonderful. Oh sure there are some things about you that are a work in progress but you make  a much bigger deal out of these few things than you should. When you do that it makes it way harder to change and also tends to make you more critical of others shortcomings. It’s easy for me to see how remarkable you are. I want you to know it too.

You’re an Honest to God Miracle!

I recently heard that the chances of you existing are one in 400 trillion. Statistics being what they are I had to look into it and sure enough there’s some pretty good data that backs this up. I also came across a formula that had the odds at one in 700 trillion and another that put the likelihood at 1 in 10 to the 2,685,000^th power. Just for comparison, scientists approximate the number of atoms known to exist at 10 to the 80^th power. You are a miracle!

If you’re reading this it means you’ve won the Mega Bagillions Lottery! The only question now is how are you going to spend it? Seriously, what are you settling for because you’re not aware of how amazing you are? What insecurities do you live with because you can’t catch a break? What small change could you make today in the light of knowing how astonishing you are that will not only change your life but also those with the honor of interacting with you?

Confirmed

I hope the fact that you are amazingly loved was completely confirmed for you today. If not, don’t believe the lie no matter how much evidence piles up.

What’s Another Word for Overwhelmed the Good Way?

God’s goodness and everything that goes in that, has been so overwhelmingly evident lately it’s almost beyond understanding. Walking through life with Him is the greatest adventure and please forgive my excitement but I can’t help but wish the same for you. He loves you so much.

Still One Thing

I started writing here about a year and a half ago and the first post was titled, “If I could tell you just one thing.” And pretty much every day since I’ve tried to let you know how much God loves you. Sometimes I wonder if the redundancy has a place but each day I’m reminded that for some reason grasping His amazing love for us is a daily endeavor. So, today I want you to know with certainty that your God loves you, not because He made you, not because you believe in Him and certainly not because you’ve earned it. He loves you because you are unique and one of a kind and that’s the only love that truly is enough to fill our hearts.

Worthy

God is incredible and His love for us so perfect, may we worship Him today like never before. I pray you are able to gather with friends and family and celebrate our marvelous Lord.

It’s My Favorite

Anywhere you spot God is incredible. My favorite is when I see Him in our children.

Goodness

We will never reach the end of God’s goodness. His good thoughts towards us each day are amazing. And remember, His thoughts are unlike our thoughts which are often fleeting. His thoughts never stray from His acting.

Layers

More from yesterday: The Grand Canyon is so much more than the most amazing natural beauty you can possibly see. It’s also a view like no other into the process God used to form the earth, each step formed upon the other until its perfect completion, not unlike ourselves. He’s in the process of perfecting each of us step by step and layer upon layer. No two identical each with our rough edges to be worn, cut or sanded down in His timing.

 

Too Much for One Day

Today began with an incredible sunrise over the mountains outside Flagstaff and from there only got better. We saw the unbelievable beauty of the Grand Canyon, an astounding diversity of people drawn to this magnificent work of creation and had the honor of finishing the day with the children’s Great Grandmother Grace. All of which I would love to say more but for now:

The astounding diversity, as we were walking along the southern rim of the canyon today we could hear Worship music coming from somewhere. We walked toward it and came upon a group of twelve or thirteen people who had gone out on an outcropping with a guitar and were belting it out to God. We sat down and soaked it in. As others passed by they often stopped and in a multitude of languages called out their approval. Few things speak of God’s magnitude like the Grand Canyon but today we got to see one better in the way He touches folks everywhere.
