God’s not asking for us to change the way we act, he has so much more for us than that. He wants to heal our broken hearts, comfort us in difficult times, rejoice with us in good times and be our constant companion. He wants us to not only know but to experience the power of His perfect love for us. He wants His unique love for each of us to wipe away our insecurities and fill us to the point that we’re gushing over, pouring Him on those He puts around us.

Lord let the reality of your perfect love for me direct this day. Help me put my insecurities aside by resting in the fact that in You I have all that I need. Help me not look to others for the things I can only get from You and allow me to love out of the wealth of our relationship. The implications of Your love are astonishing, please help me catch a glimpse of them.

Good morning sweet Lord. I don’t know what today may bring but You do. I don’t know if I’m going to be able to handle everything that comes my way but You can. There’s going to be times I doubt whether I’m loved today but your love for me will be constant. Together can we please make a difference in someone’s life today? I love You so much.

We’ve been out of town for the past week and we’ve heard “welcome home” at each place we’ve stayed. It’s a wonderful sentiment and did make us feel warmly welcomed. But it didn’t take long to realize that no matter how nice the place was, it was not home. As much as we take it for granted, there is no place like home. It’s good to get away every now and then to be reminded how good home is. The even better thing to know is that this isn’t our home either, how much better will that be?

One of the great joys in life is experiencing the power of friendship. There are few things better than reconnecting with friends where time and circumstance have caused separation and finding that the friendship is as warm and real as ever.
Sacrifice is Never Easy

Sometimes we get giving and sacrifice confused. Sacrifice always costs a lot, giving can but they aren’t necessarily the same thing.
Brave

I’ve also had the chance this week to see someone face their fears and boldly try a lot of new and dangerous things. I’ve learned much. In a world created by The God who doesn’t do things twice, it’s very valuable to be able to try new things in spite of your fears, to trust Him enough to take a step when you don’t know what comes next. Thank you for the lesson.
Deciding

I’ve had the chance to watch someone make the best out of what’s going on around them this week even though the surroundings are not necessarily what they would choose on their own. It’s been great to see how it’s possible to decide you’re going have a good time and actually have a good time when it would be just as easy to focus on yourself and have a crappy time. Thank you for your example.

Fourteen years ago one of my all time favorite sons was born. The circumstances leading up to that day caused us to cling to God like never before and every day since Max, you’ve brought us joy, caused our trust in The Lord to remain strong and been such an incredible blessing to everyone that knows you. Thank you for being who you are, thank you for your soft heart and thank you for the love you share so freely.
The Power of a Smile

If you’ve visited here regularly you’ve probably come across something I’ve written about smiling. Yesterday I had the opportunity to test out my belief in the power of a smile. We were around a ton of people from every walk in life and from all over the world. We must have heard twenty different languages. Never was a smile not returned and in many cases you could see a drastic change in countenance as returning a smile seemed to release the concern of the moment. I’m going to try it again today.
