In the verse we talked about yesterday, there’s a small word that often gets overlooked; the word “asks”. This little word indicates that when people are ready to listen, they will ask a question. Hopefully they’ll ask because they see something in us that’s different. This is God at work. We don’t need to take matters into our hands if we’ll pray and respond to His opportunities.

Scripture says to, “always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you,”. Memorizing just one scripture as we talked about yesterday is a great example of being ready. Getting a passport might be another. If we’ll do our small part with Him, He’ll for sure do His part.

Here’s a chance to do something with God; Pick a scripture to memorize or recommit one you already know and pray. Watch God bring someone your way that needs that very scripture. It will be exactly what they needed to hear from Him for just their situation. They’ll be touched by The Lord through you and think you know the Bible by heart.

“No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.” What more do we need to change from “for God” to “with God”?

In order to join in God’s plans we have to develop the ability to recognize His voice. I wish there were an easy way to do this but for me it has taken many mistakes; hearing what I thought might be Him but deciding it wasn’t, only to know later that it was. God is talking to us all the time, we just need to slow down and listen.

God prefers that we go about our days doing everything with Him, not doing things for Him. We have an open invitation to join Him in what He’s up to at all times. Too often we go about our lives thinking we are doing what He wants when it’s really what He wanted yesterday but we’ve ran ahead with yesterday’s plan at the expense of what He wanted to share with us today.

“There is no condemnation in Christ Jesus.” If that’s true then why are we manipulated so often by guilt to “do more for the Lord”?

Isn’t it ironic the huge things we take for granted every day like gravity, daybreak and sunset but we don’t trust God to handle the smaller things? We want to shoulder those on our own thinking we know best.
